Use of Insulation Based on Nanomaterials to Improve Energy Efficiency of Residential Buildings in a Hot Desert Climate

Building insulation based on nanomaterials is considered one of the most effective means reducing energy consumption in hot desert climate. The application an energy-efficient system can significantly decrease consumed via a building’s air-conditioning during summer. Hence, building has become interesting research topic, especially with regards to use due their low U-values. In present study, nano vacuum panels (VIPs) or polystyrene foam walls enabled significant reduction annual consumption, savings 23% compared uninsulated wall study New Aswan City. nanogel glazing windows (two layers clear glass filled nanogel) achieved approximately 11% energy. This savings, twice that obtained by using double-glazed windows, could be U-value U-values argon air. embedded layer between two and single showed saving 26% glass.
